ABOUT ME AND MY WORK

Once-loved and valued treasures now gather dust and are destined to further decline; books that are damaged or foxed and no longer used for their original purpose, outgrown toys and forgotten treasures. I am imparting in these decaying artefacts a new narrative and a renewed value.

Carefully hand-built with scalpel, glue and tweezers, I make my art from found and bought objects from the past. Some are housed in traditional taxidermy boxes, glazed with exhibition anti-reflective glass and framed with authentic passe partout tape, others in more traditional box frames and some more recent work using reclaimed tins. A reaction and a response to the found materials I have chosen to use as I explore transformation and preservation, each piece is wholly unique.

I studied a BTEC in Art and Design at Norwich before completing a BA Hons Visual and Performing Arts Degree at the University of Brighton in the early 1990s and I still live on the south coast of England.

You can see a variety of my work, old and new, on this website where you can also buy work directly from me. I am also able to take commissions, please make enquiries via the contact page.

In addition you'll also find my work exhibited at a number of galleries in the UK and overseas.

If you'd like to read more about me and my practice there's a very nice article with lovely pictures on the Paper Thin Moon website.
